Who’s Ph0tonz?

Hailing from the North West of England, I am a father of two with a longstanding passion for computers, networking, and IT. Ever since I got my hands on my first computer in the mid-90s, I have been captivated by the inner workings of connected devices and the challenges involved in creating and securing them.

My professional background is originally in mechanical engineering, with a focus on automation. I’ve worked on projects ranging from natural gas production platforms in the North Sea to highly automated fast-moving consumer goods factories. Although my career began in engineering, my interest in security never waned. I have always made an effort to stay current with trends in the field during my spare time.

Recently, I decided to pursue my passion for security full time and have gratefully accepted a position with a fantastic company with a solid footprint in the cybersecurity landscape.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy delving into electronics and microcontrollers. In fact, I am the designer and inventor of a CO2 laser power meter built on the ATmega328P microcontroller. The device is designed for ultra-low power draw, with a single charge sustaining it for up to 10 years.

In terms of programming, I consider myself to be at an advanced level in Python. I often use this language to develop proof of concepts, tools, and experimental malware. You can find some of my projects on my GitHub page, where I showcase offensive tooling and proof of concepts.

The purpose of this blog is to document my development journey and share my knowledge and findings with the rest of the community. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can contribute to the collective knowledge in the cybersecurity field and inspire others to explore their own interests and passions.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and read my story. I appreciate your interest and hope you find the content here valuable and informative. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, or suggestions. I look forward to engaging with you and sharing our mutual passion for cybersecurity and technology.
